Having your kids fix their bed every morning is a great way to making them have a sense of responsibility.

Just like any stay-home mom, my days are pretty busy.

I wake early everyday to make sure breakfast is prepared and to make sure everybody is all set for the day. Then I proceed to doing my usual chores and errands, all of which are enough to really take up my time and energy. But I’m not complaining; I love being a mom.

But if there’s one thing I don’t do for my kids is to make their beds every morning. I am slowly training them to make their own beds every morning. They maybe a little too young to understand the logic behind it; but I really want them to learn the value of responsibility.

Instilling The Habit

🤔 What's The Real Scoop On Sittercity? This Is What We Found Out

Making my own bed was a habit I learned from my grandma. At a very young age, she would always tell me to make my own bed. So if there was one thing I had to do every time I woke up was to fix my own bed. There was no excuse for me not to do it.

This is the same habit I want to instill in my kids. As a matter of fact, I’ve gotten them to start early. I compel them to fix their beds soon as they get up. If they don’t make it, I don’t do it for them. I leave it for them to fix it. I want them to feel and see the difference.

I remember my grandma telling me that would feel a lot better about myself if I made my own bed. At a very young age, I couldn’t understand the reason behind it. But as I got older, I understood what my grandma meant.
