Sittercity makes it easy for me to find someone who lives nearby. I prefer someone who lives nearby. In case I need to come home late, I can always drive her home. Besides, when a sitter lives nearby, she usually doesn’t mind staying a bit late.

I used to ask my friends for references. Unfortunately, none of the sitters they had recommended were good enough for me. They weren’t bad but they were just not good enough for me. Then I came across Sittercity and discovered a much better way to hire sitters. Now, I recommend Sittercity to all my friends.

Personally, I would never consider a background check as an added service. For me, running a background check should be one of the main concerns of childcare service providers and parents as well. I find it totally irresponsible of parents to hire someone they hardly even know. Having said that, there’s just no excuse for parents NOT to run a background check with Sittercity since it’s pretty affordable anyway.

The reviews posted on Sittercity are very helpful. I don’t have to get with anyone for references. I can find out more about the sitter without having to deal with other folks. I can just read the reviews and verify them myself.
