In reply to hjhamil. Yes, you’re right. Although I was skeptical at first since I didn’t want to spend any more than my yearly subscription. But then I soon realized there was no excuse to skip the background checks. We just have to do it for the safety of our kids.

Knowing the background of the person you’re going to hire to take care of your kids is top priority. You just can’t hire anyone to do it. There are a lot of impostors nowadays and even if the sitters on Sittercity are verified, it’s a lot safer to run background checks on them. When it comes to the safety of the children, you just can’t miss a thing. You just have to do it.

Some sitters run enhanced background checks on themselves and I appreciate that a lot. But if their background checks are more than 6 months old, I usually run another one. I want to be sure. Besides, it’s worth it especially if I’m going to hire the sitter on a regular basis.

As an HR practitioner, I know the importance of doing background checks. It’s usually the last stage of the hiring process. Running background checks saves me from a lot of headaches. It provides me important information about the applicant. Stuff that I might have missed during the interview process and stuff that the applicant might have kept from me as well.
I’m impressed that Sittercity encourages parents to run background checks. It’s really the smartest way to get to know the applicant. It will help you decide whether the applicant is worth hiring or not.

One of the reasons why I’m with Sittercity is because I can run background checks on the babysitters. I know some childcare websites also run background checks but I like how simple Sittercity does theirs.
You see, Sittercity’s background checks are simply categorized into three and they are Basic Background Check, Enhanced Background check, and Motor Vehicle Records Check. They don’t combine the Motor Vehicle Check with the background checks.

Sittercity encourages their sitters to run background checks on themselves. In doing so, their account gets verified and their profile gets more views. More parents get to see their profile. This means, they have a higher chance of getting connected to parents and getting hired as well. Sitters don’t need to go far to run background checks since they can do it on Sittercity.
This is what I like about Sittercity because I wouldn’t go near a babysitter who doesn’t have a background check. I’d appreciate a basic background check on herself so that I can run a more enhanced background check on her.

Stories of abusive sitters just make me cringe. I don’t like hearing about them but we just can’t pretend that they don’t happen at all because they do. It’s a huge risk to hire sitters. That’s the reason why I would rather hire from Sittercity. It’s like having a safety net since I can get to know the sitters from their profile and background checks.

If an applicant is married, I go out of my way to get to know her family as well. I want to know her husband, where he works, and all that. If she has kids, I want to see them. I think I have that right to know.
If she isn’t married, I want to get to know her parents and learn more about her family. I’m not just contented with getting feedback from previous employers.

I’ve been with Sittercity for quite some time now. So more or less, I already have a list of sitters I usually call on. Aside from that, I get a regular notification on the top sitters in our area. So I can pretty much say that I have stayed away from sitters from hell. But that won’t stop me from reading your free report because I want to be totally sure of every single sitter I hire.
