It’s very easy to post a job on Sittercity. When you sign into your account, you can post a job on the top right hand side of your dashboard. You’ll see a button that says Post A Job. Click on that and you’re all set.

The key to a good job post is to be clear about the qualities you’re looking for and the schedule. This way, the interested parties have a good idea as to what you want.

It’s a lot easier for me to post a job and wait for the sitters to contact me. I get to choose among the applicants that are interested in my job post. That tapers it down for me.

I usually do it this way as well. I would rather post a job and wait for the applicants to respond to me. This manner of finding a babysitter has been working well for me.

In case some parents might wonder what amount to put in the “Rate” field, Sittercity provides a chart that shows the standard rates in all states.

I usually go through the profiles of the babysitters. I don’t post a job. I study the profiles first and contact the ones I think are good enough for me and my kids. I feel safer doing it that way.

Thanks for the screen shots. Based on those, the Sitterctiy system seems very easy to work with. It’s also good that there’s a form for us to explain more details. Searching for a babysitter doesn’t just require us to click on a couple of buttons. That’s not enough. Moms like me want to play it safe. And that requires us to get into more details.
