I would like to add another point for #1. If your worrying becomes a nagging feeling, maybe you should listen to your intuition instead. If you have to change your sitter at the last minute; do it. I would. It’s very easy to get a last-minute sitter nowadays.

It really isn’t that easy to stop worrying once I leave my kids with the babysitter. However, I am able to lessen the worry with the fact that I did a thorough review and interview of my sitter. It helps that I know a lot about the babysitter thru the reviews and the background checks on a site like Sittercity. Furthermore, I had a chance to get to know more about my sitter when I had her babysit my kids while I was also at home doing some work.

You know what? You are so right and I’m so guilty of doing some of the stuff you just listed. But I totally agree with you. I shouldn’t just hand my child over to the babysitter. I really need to take some time to explain to my child why I’m doing it.
